This comprehensive course will run on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to about 5pm with a lunch break; Class Location is TBD with outdoor range time after the classroom. This course will qualify you to apply for your conceal carry permit. On the class date please wear range friendly clothing. Good shoes/boots, weather related wear and a good belt. If using your own firearm please bring 200 rounds of ammo and a holster (if you have one) for the qualification and bring extra if you would like to practice some shooting drills after the class is over. We have firearms for you to use if you have not made a purchase yet. If using our firearms please bring 200 rounds of 9mm full metal jacket ammunition to the class. If you can't get any we will provide ammunition at our cost of .27 a round or $50.00

Day 1:
This class covers gun safety, proper handling and storage of firearms, proper grip and stance, choosing and cleaning firearms and shooting fundamentals. Inside the classroom we work with fake firearms called 'blue guns' and we also work with red guns that have lasers built into them. This really helps us get to know your trigger press, stance, grip sight picture and sight alignment in the classroom before we get to the range and fix problems that might come up. The class also covers conceal carry laws in Arizona as well as a lot of conceal carry dos and don'ts. We cover the legal aspects of using deadly force, when you can use deadly force and what to do if you are forced to use deadly force.

Day 2:

Level I Defensive Pistol Covers:

Safety/Mind set

Drawing

Marksmanship

Reloads

Trigger Reset

Malfunctions

Moving

This is not a basic class and is designed to take novice to good shooters to their next level. You should have a quality outside the waist holster for your firearm as well as a double magazine holster for your weak side. Class starts at 11am and we will meet at the range. You will need to bring a sack lunch (I will have a large cooler full of water)

What to bring to the range: Your side arm 3 magazines a holster and mag holsters, lunch, snacks, non water drinks, eye and ear protection (I have these if you don't) sun screen, 200 rounds of range ammo and clothes you are willing to get dirty and wear a good belt. Any other items that you would normally bring in your range bag.

A note on your holster and mag holsters. You really want a quality kydex (plastic) or leather holster. The nylon style holsters will work but understand they are harder to draw from.

This is a level 1 pistol course, not a basic or bulls eye course. We will be doing things that you might not expect at what might be a 'normal' day at the range for you. Everything will be discussed and we will make sure that we all stay safe on the range.

Please let me know if you or someone you know has any interest for a class, cost is $150 per person. There is a $50 deposit to register for the class to save your seat.
